Inland Hurricane, Carterville, Southern Illinois, 08 May 2009

8th May 2009 saw an inland hurricane/tornado hit Southern Illinois, this is the sight and sound from the balcony in Carterville. The storm itself lasted 4 hours from start to finish, yet the power was out due to downed powerlines or five days. What you hear is the sound the wind made as it took hold of trees, I was by the window as it struck, not outside. I stopped filming when it took one of the big oak trees down just to the left of the apartment.
