My first diving attempts with my Dumas Akula "Konavolov" at Veili Lake
(Note my tendency to cavitate the prop)
I do not recommend this kit!
It in not watertight, and very badly engineered.
The bow planes are right in the middle of the hull wave trough. BAD KIT!!!!!

  • I have this model too, i find the same problems you have, and a friend and i make some improvements, one of them was to make little tiny holes in the main horizontal drop structure in the rear and in the junction with main hull to permit the entrance of water to make de Dive manuver easier...i think if you do that and you all ready solve the problems with the hermetic container, your Akula will work fine, have i nice day

  • can this go under water

  • LUCKY! i got the Bluefish. building it is a b!t@h.... Your subs in like what, 2 halves basically? we (bluefish owners) got this narrow rectangle on top. I envy you.

  • I agree it is an easy to build sub

  • I think that they kit is rather well made and because it's a dynamic dive kit it was not designed to be watertight. If the complete kit were water tight, controlled submerged operation would not possible. This is probably the easiest to build dynamic sub on the market. The Robbe Seawolf may be a bit easier but it's twice the price.
