Feeding the yaks!

My husband and I visited a yak farm! Here we were given a scoop of grain to treat the ladies.

The "baas" are from the goats. Yaks actually let out deep, rumbly grunts.

They appear gentle in this video, but they are very, very big animals and command respect, caution, and awareness. A few takes before this, a different yak gave me a warning headbutt and horn jab through the fence! Do not mess with a momma yak.

They are totally awesome creatures and I was so glad to meet them.
