DONT UNPLUG ANY CABLES except the one attached to the hard drive!
The entire replacement can be done without removing ANY cables except the SATA that is connected to the hard drive itself. Work the glue loose with a spudger (or tightly folded sheets of paper), and after the retaining bar is gone you can lift the hard drive up and nudge the cable out. After reading numerous reports of broken cables, I was determined to not break mine. Easy cheesy, and quicker too! (Thanks for this anyway!)

@PowerbookMedic - Good point.

OMG thank you for this video!
With my MacBook Pro, the wiring circut was glued tight on my hard drive like in your video, and I had no clue how to safely remove it. Other videos talked about how to remove drives but not if you're in this situation.
Thank you!

Well done!
Get a Torx T6 screwdriver before you start.
Minor nit: Also, note that the videos aren't in order. If you watch them in default order, you may wonder where the T6 screws are because you haven't removed the memory cover to expose them.

@SuburbanNinja8000 - If Apple can tell you've been inside your machine, then yes it will void your warranty. Odds are though, changing it yourself will save you more than your warranty is worth anyway.
