http://www.frankperry.co.uk. 100s of instruments for a solstice sound meditation. Another section from this private Solstice Concert celebrating my 45 years in music and my 60th birthday in the wonderful space of the White Eagle Lodge, London. An oasis of peace in our capital city and a spirit-filled space. My invented Petalumines feature here - unique in the world! Plus around 40 Gongs with some from China, Burma, Java, and PAISTE (Sun Gong, Tuned Symphonic Gongs, Venus Gong, Earth #1 & Earth #3 Gong),. 400-year-old Japanese Zen Buddhist Densho, antique Horizontal Chinese Gong, Chinese Qing, antique Japanese Rin bells, Noah Bells (India), bells, Tibetan singing bowls, instruments hand-made and invented by myself in the late 1970s (Petalumines, Pyrahermeezees, Pyrotahermeezees, Trianguhermeezees, Ufoms, & Sun Rays). Frank has been playing gongs since 1968 and singing bowls since 1971 and has appeared on over 100 albums. Camera Rose Perry and Sound Kevin Goulding

  • What instrument's producing that awesome ringing sound at 4:26?

  • @RogueRotting360 Well nothing is struck at that point in time. Just prior to that there is a strike upon the 34" Symphonic gong followed by Tuned gong C and then the largest petalumine. The petalumine is invented and hand built by myself and rings on for 5 minutes after one hit. I am also doing ululation with this. So in truth it is a combination of all these but with the Petalumine in the foreground. There are some 19 of these used in this improvisation. These are rich in harmonics.

  • Did you manufacture or purchase most of these items yourself? This kind of collection is unfathomable to one who's not only just started his own, but is living off of minimum wage!

  • @11Frodo11 Well please understand that I began making music in 1964. Got my first gong in 1968 from a junk shop, first bowl 1971. SO I've been buying for a while now! I did invent and make several of the instruments - those that are unique in the world. You can find details on my website under invented instruments otherwise on MySpace - connection via my Home page or Frank Perry 111 on MySpace. I have always been of humble means.

  • I like the 7:50 sound

  • Well, just prior to 7:50 is the Tuned Symphonic gong from PAISTE C two octaves below Middle C just after 7:50 is the PAISTE Sun Gong. Both are 38 inch diameter. The Tuned Gong is gorgeous so probably that one - got it in 1979 as a gift from a friend!

  • Have you ever heard a Sabian 10" AA Mini Hat? Those 2 cymbals would sound great with your collection, especially with a soft mallet. This is great to fall asleep to. Thanks!

  • very relaxing :)

  • Beautiful thankyou for sharing :)

  • I may buy one of your bowls in a few months... you have a great passion for them
