Hey guys! This is a special video because... I'M GOING TO MUSIC SCHOOL! wOOt!

*does geeky I made it into college for music dance* So I figured what better way to celebrate my going to college to someday become an opera singer than to do a dub of the ultimate operatic princess- Aurora! The only problem is that half way through recording I remembered that I am NOT, in fact, a coloratura like the incomparable Mary Costa, but in fact a lyric mezzo. Whoops. Anyhow, I worked too long on this to care whether or not it sounds good, so I'm posting it anyway.
My apologies to anyone whose dogs start whimpering/head explodes/ears start bleeding as a result of this dub.
Enjoy (?)

  • really nice!!^^

  • Thanks!

  • You voice is SO beautiful:)

oh, and i loved the annotations lol

  • Well thank you!

  • You have a lovely tone. Remember to always lead the sound forward in your mouth to resonate. Your singing in this song very strong, and while that's an admirable quality to have in general, this particular song requires a sense of gentle, well, 'wonder'. A lighter sense, particularly on the ends of of words - always pull back on the less important parts of phrases and words.

Otherwise, congratulations on being accepted into music school. : ) That's a certain accomplishment!

  • Thanks for the constructive criticism! It's alway nice to get pointers. I did try to give this a lighter sound but being a mezzo (meaning I really shouldn't have even attempted this in the first place I admit) I really had to kind of wail on those high notes to hit them. Thank you nonetheless for commenting!

  • are you kidding me?!

you are FANTASTIC!! this is absolutely... stunning!

  • wow beautiful! this is quite a hard song to sing i have tried doing it but it didnt work out to good! haha great job! :D

  • No, no, you definitely should have tried it! : ) I find that one of the best things for a singer is to get used to singing other parts. I've been a first soprano my whole life, but I've spent the last two years developing a musical theater belt. I find one of the most stifling things about music is the sense that you are what you are vocally - never be afraid to branch out, as long as it's healthy! : )
