Synopsis:
On a distant planet, descendants of a crashed spaceship are subjected to mysterious forces that cause them to age and die in just eight days. They must also live in caves to escape the bitter cold of night and the killing heat of day. One young boy is determined to find his way back to the ship that brought them there. But how will accomplish this in the short time left to him?

This movie only has 2 things in common with the short story, you live your entire life in 8 days, and the very poorly portrayed ESP. Absolutely nothing else in the movie can in any way be seen as part of the actual short story. This was one of my favorite Bradbury stories and this movie is absolutely the worst adaptation that I have ever seen.
Read the short story, you will enjoy it much better than this crappy movie.

Saul Bass was one of the best artists and storytellers of the last 100 years! I love his films he directed and his unique and dynamic design work most people who go to art school will never be as gifted as Saul Bass was!

I did read a story, several times as well and I love it. I do like the movie as well for what it is. I do agree with you , the short story is better and everyone should read it at least once.
