Today, Matt, Josh and myself made a trip to Blue Island, the location that is currently said to be Illinois' hottest train location. Power includes BCOL, BNSF, CN, CP, CSX, CR, IHB, IAIS, Metra, Loram and much more! Enjoy the action! Some of the videos were shortened because it gets tricky trying to fit 39 trains into one video. You definitely get the full idea of what everything is! Here we go with the train information. My hands will need a rest after this one. Bear with me.
Train 1: IAIS ES44AC 505, IAIS GP38-2 721 and IAIS GP38-2 707 lead the CBBI north.
Train 2: IHB SW1500 1503 and IHB caboose 54 lead a northbound transfer.
Train 3: CSXT C40-8W 7771, CSXT C44-9W 9041, CSXT GP40-2 6206, CSXT SD40-2 8863 and CSXT SD60 8787 lead a northbound stack train.
Trains 4, 5 and 6 were involved in a three way meet!
Train 4: CSXT ES44DC 5407 and CSXT ES44DC 5261 lead a northbound stack train. They would meet the CBBI and a manifest, both heading south.
Train 5: IAIS GP38-2 707, IAIS GP38-2 721 and IAIS ES44AC 505 back up, headed south with the CBBI. A manifest can be seen approaching, southbound.
Train 6: CSXT C40-8W 7910 and CSXT AC4400CW 109 lead a manifest south.
Train 7: IAIS SD38-2 157 and IAIS ES44AC 504 lead the BISW north.
Train 8: IAIS ES44AC 504 and IAIS SD38-2 157 lead the BISW south.
Train 9: IAIS SD38-2 157 and IAIS ES44AC 504 lead the BISW north.
Train 10: CSXT ES44DC 5473 and CSXT ES44DC 5308 lead a stack train south.
Train 11: IAIS ES44AC 505, IAIS GP38-2 721 and IAIS GP38-2 707 lead the CBBI north.
Train 12: IAIS ES44AC 504 and IAIS SD38-2 157 head south with the BISW.
Train 13: IAIS SD38-2 157 and IAIS ES44AC 504 head east with the BISW.
Train 14: This was amazing! CN Dash 9-44CW 2564, CN SD75I 5775 and...ohhhhh my...BC RAIL SD40-2 746! This is southbound train M398. There can't be too many BCOL SD40-2's around!
Train 15: IAIS GP38-2 721, IAIS GP38-2 707 and IAIS ES44AC 505 lead the CBBI south.
Train 16: IAIS ES44AC 505, IAIS GP38-2 721 and IAIS GP38-2 707 lead the CBBI east.
Train 17: CSXT AC4400CW 326 and CSXT SD70MAC 4539 lead a southbound stack train.
Train 18: This was neat. A Loram Railgrinder heads north!
Train 19: CP ES44AC 8883 and CP ES44AC 8816 lead a southbound ethanol train.
Train 20: BNSF Dash 9-44CW 783 and BNSF Dash 9-44CW 763 lead a northbound manifest.
Train 21: My first SD20 pair in a long, long time. IHB 2923 and 2924 lead a transfer south.
Train 22: BNSF ES44AC 6032 and BN SD70MAC 9461 lead a northbound, empty coal train.
Train 23: CSXT ES44DC 5413 and CR C40-8W 7303 lead a northbound stack train.
Train 24: An inbound Metra train heads east.
Train 25: An outbound Metra train heads west.
Train 26: BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5346 and BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5246 lead a southbound autorack train.
Train 27: IHB SW1500 1503 and IHB caboose 54 lead a transfer south.
Train 28: IHB GP40-2 4014 and IHB GP40-2 4013 lead a northbound transfer.
Train 29: An outbound Metra heads west.
Train 30: BNSF Dash 9-44CW 4175 and BNSF ES44DC 7504 lead the GP2 autorack train north.
Train 31: It's uncommon to see a southbound train, or any train for that matter, use the connector track. BNSF SD70MAC 9934 and BN SD70MAC 9514 lead a southbound, loaded coal train. BNSF SD70MAC 9967 is pushing at the rear as a DPU.
Train 32: IAIS ES44AC 508 leads the RIBI north. IAIS ES44AC 509 is pushing at the rear as a DPU.
Train 33: CSXT ES44DC 5319 and CSXT C40-8W 7691 lead a northbound intermodal.
Trains 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38 were involved in a five way meet!
Train 34: An outbound Metra train heads west.
Train 35: IAIS ES44AC 509 leads the RIBI south. IAIS ES44AC 508 is pushing at the rear as a DPU.
Train 36: Another train takes the connector! This one is a northbound CN manifest. CN SD70M-2 8804, CN SD40-2W 5299 and IC SD70 1026 are powering the train.
Train 37: IHB SW1500 1523 and IHB Slug 479 head light, northbound.
Train 38: IHB Slug 479 and IHB SW1500 1523 head light, southbound.
