Dr. Silber shows three examples of embryo biopsy, each time removing two cells from the embryo. In the first two examples, blastomeres are easily removed due to decreased compaction. In the third example, however, there are tighter connections between eight blastomeres, leading to a more difficult embryo biopsy. This is done to test the two extracted cells for abnormalities within the embryo.
