THE TOUR of Britain made a welcome return to Tiverton on Friday 18, as hundreds lined the streets to see the cyclists whizz past.
Stage seven of the race started in Hatherleigh and arrived in Tiverton at 11.40am. The route took from Bridge Street, up Angel Hill, along Fore Street, Gold Street, and onwards to Willand and the finishing line at Yeovil.
93 cyclists came through the town including England's Ben Swift - who won the day's race - Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen, and British Olympic gold medallist Geraint Thomas.
They arrived in Tiverton to the cheers of the hundreds of people, including children waving their Devon flags from primary schools across the town.
