[How To] Install Free McBoot on Slim Playstation 2 (or Fat PS2, No BS Tutorial)

[This tutorial is important It is the underlying fundamental of all my PS2 slim tutorials! - Versatile]

This tutorial shows you how to turn your PS2 memory card into an exploited memory card. Why do you want to do this? To play homebrew applications, play divx movies, games off of USB, and more!

This tutorial applies for all Fat PS2 and all slims made before March 2008. If you have a model SCPH-9xxxxx series, then don't even bother.

Pre-Reqs:
* Slim PS2 made before March 2008 (yes, FAT PS2s are OK too)
* Swap magic 3.6 or equivalent (mod-chip is ok too)
* Free Mcboot Package. Download here: http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=exploit.html

Get the latest version. Extract contents of zip file to USB thumb drive.

Nothing's worked for me regarding this. I have a 77001, tried following: freemcboot .info/ swapmagic.html which didn't work (notice how it doesn't ask to input a disk with swapmagic..just assumes it'll boot off the usb). I tried this video method with both a burned cd and dvd, even with the dvd iso, and all it says is disk not a ps2 disk (tried 3 diff. disks, so not "bad disks" esp. since I use them all the time and nver had probs before). *WHAT* will work to get mcboot2work?

@KURESUKU Wait a second, what is your method? Do you have a silver pressed swap magic that you bought from the store? Downloaded swap magic is not going to work on a vanilla ps2.

@gamedexterity downloaded swap magic? No I have a regular legit swap magic disk. I use it all the time when swapping out my back ups. It's v3.8.

@KURESUKU Ok, do this. Use your retail swap magic 3.8 CD, and boot the ulaunchelf v4.40cd from skapps. From there, you can access your usb thumb drive, and then install FMCB?

i have ps2 scph-90004 i have installed mcboot successfully but after restart of ps2 it boot normally and don't show mcboot osd menu
