Thank you. I agree and while Nashville is a great film, The Long Goodbye is a masterpiece. Altman had a lot of respect for Gibson as an actor.

Well said. Henry Gibson was my favourite actor. Was sad to hear of his passing. I know many people rave about his performance in Nashville but in my opinion his Dr Verringer in The Long Goodbye is better than his Haven Hamilton in Nashville. It was his first of many roles as an evil doctor.

The best 'Party gatecrasher ' scene in cinema history, period! If there is a heaven, you can be damn sure Altman and Gibson are right there now drinking triple Martini's with double olives. In memoriam to you both dear sirs.
