Biography of a House

This multimedia artwork by Jan Gilbert with sound composed by William Gilbert using 50 year-old audio made by his grandfather (former Brooklyn Dodger) Charlie Gilbert and a more recent recitation of a poem by his grandmother, Helen. It was part of the 2007 soldout LakeviewS Sunset Bus Tour. The studio/installation team was comprised of Will Bowling, Rachel Carrico, and Melissa Stein. These photos laced the home at the 8 ft. floodline. This work will be on view in a new iteration at the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center April 17 - July 12, 2009.
