Video 4 of 4: Final Presentation
In this video: final presentation of the design of the new power substation in the 'Gebroeders de Smetstraat' in Ghent. A building by arch. J.A. De Bondt.

In this new design a private building becomes a semi-publical building with lots of possibilities.
Floors can be changed, swept away, lifted and sculpted to get the most possible patterns a building can have.
This freedom in space results in a very large number of possibilities: working area, offices, exhibition space, party-rooms, wedding hall, playgarden, dinner, show, theatre, ...
On the outside of this changeable spaces a glass wall is hiden by a semi-transparent climbing wall in different individual segments. Every segment can be changed, thus forming a wall in movement, a facade with different faces.
The surroundings will be public park and private gardens, connecting on 3 sides with the street.

These 4 videos are the evolution of the design of a new function for an old substation for electricity.
Original building by arch. J.A. De Bondt.
New design by arch. Wouter Agsteribbe.
Designed for Hogeschool WenK Sint-Lucas Architectuur, 2nd Master in Architecture, 2008.
