The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded 100,000 dollars to scientists in 22 countries including funding for a Japanese proposal to turn mosquitos into "flying syringes" delivering vaccines.

i can see a vaccine hybridizing with mosquito dna and mutating, possibly becoming a global threat. it's a good concept though. maybe i just read too many sci-fi books!
