Good music and sure gives the low down on Pop Country!

Dale is awesome.
I saw him at a small club. After the concert, he was selling merchandise. I waited until the end & went & talked with him for about 30 minutes. Nicest guy in the world.
Puts on 1 HELL of a show.

"SHE CAN'T SING A LICK AND IN A BUCKET SHE COULDN'T CARRY HER TUNES" (Taylor Swift)

@TheOriginalShredneck Yeah. It really sucks to turn on the radio to a "country" station and maybe hearing a few good country songs but most of them being taylor Swift,Jason Aldean(fake pretty boy),Lady Antebellum, and the lot.
-
@sarge958 I'm so glad you took that as it was, a joke (like pop country) but I hear you brother!
-
@TheOriginalShredneck What's wrong with sitting on a tailgate having a cold beer on a dirt road in a small town? Nothing wrong with that. Of course, many pop country singers put on a cowboy hat and drive down a country road ONE TIME because they got lost on the highway and they automatically think they're country and can say who is and isn't. Most of them do what they preach against.

@CountryDivo besides my comment can (I think) be summed up pretty well by a couple of lines in this song "they took the soul out of what means a whole lot to me" and "...I can see hank and lefty, they're spinnin' around in their grave and if they were here today I think you know what they'd say..."
-
@CountryDivo "don't know the truth if it jumped up and slapped 'em in the face"
if you don't realize what i was doing with that (satirical) comment you're pretty damn stupid.
waylon is my favorite below hank (he hated the outlaw title btw)
when people say country music is dead I always say country ain't dead, guys like dale watson and wayne hancock are keeping it on life support
for the "outlaw" thing this is a good read

n-outlaw
Please accept my sincere apologies. I thought you were saying that DALE'S music wasn't Country. Communication is the key, I guess. My music, Dale's music and a few others is simply and attempt to CARRY ON the philosophy of Waylon and a few others. Waylon DID hate the name "Outlaw", but I like it because it sort of puts me in the same category as my dear friend.

THIS AIN'T COUNTRY!!!
where are the guys in $700 designer jeans getting manicures backstage telling a reporter how they're outlaws just like waylon because of their pop songs (that have the same laundry list lyrics as every other pop song) that trash pop songs and act like frat boys.
now THAT'S country!!!!
now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go sit on a tailgate and have a cold beer on a dirt road and eat corn bread with guys who are just like me because I'm from a small town etc. FUCK.

@TheOriginalShredneck It would seem that you didn't really listen to the WORDS of the song, and it's damn obvious you don't know a damn thing about Dale Watson. He buys his jeans the same place I buy mine, and I can assure you they don't cost anywhere near $700. I guess it's a fact that when a singer actually has the balls to tell the truth in a song, it's gonna piss off SOMEBODY........usually those that don't know the truth if it jumped up and slapped 'em in the face.

@TheOriginalShredneck And if sittin' on a tailgate, eatin' cornbread and drinkin' cold beer makes one an "Outlaw", I am probably WAY ahead of you there. Waylon was a friend of mine, (and Dale's), but just being his friend doesn't make us "like" him. We are Outlaws because of the philosophy described in Dale's song, (and many of mine, Waylon's, Willie's, Ray Scott's and several others). Oh, and please keep in mind there is a big difference in "profanity", and "colorful language".
