I was listening to some Christmas music online and happened upon the Phil Spector album from 1963, "A Christmas Gift for You", one of the greatest Christmas LP's ever made, and while I don't necessarily support Spector in his current situation, I did love the album and most particularly its' offerings of Darlene Love and the Crystals. I know of two films that included their hit "Today I Met the Boy I'm Gonna Marry" in it's entirety: "Fly Boys" with James Franco and Jennifer Decker from 2006 and the one that I'm posting here: "Father of the Bride" with Steve Martin and Diane Keaton from 1991. The scene with Martin in bed reminiscing about his daughter through the years was so touching. My daughter Jennifer's birthday is tomorrow and I'm doing the same thing. Time flies too fast.
