In response to 2)...if it wasn't for the unions and all the work they have done you wouldn't even making the 200 that you pay in dues...

which brings me to a response for 1)....you are forced to join because you are getting the advantages which those unions obtained, but in comfort you will not pay it because you do not see the need now. Look up the concept of the Tragedy of the commons

It is not hypocritical to take back what is yours. You are the hypocrite for assuming she should betray her values and allow her livelihood to be sucked away by the parasites in order to be consistent with "morality" even if it's not hers.
