I remember everything
What the Queen swore to the King
And the Knight's vows before God
All he got was Death and war.

As for Love, oh no, not Love.
A white Dove once crossed his sky
But the flag flew even higher
And the sword was his last word.

And the Lady wept alone
She wore mourning every morning
For the rest of her life
While at night her gown was white.

She knew well
That crowns do frown
And make people become hounds
But one day the King would die
And the ground would hide his Law.
