Roy Brown of Ford Styling's "baby." He led the styling effort but the Edsel was too much like a Ford or Mercury to be unique.

Ford DID plan on selling a 1960 Corsair, but at the last minute changed its mind and offered the upgraded interior originally stated for this model, as a Ranger upgrade. There are extant pictures of a proposed 1960 Corsair, it was a classy looking car, but it never made it to production.

There never was a 1960 Edsel "Corsair" convertible. Only a 60 "Ranger".

Car was named after Henry Ford's only son. He died at 43 years old, (before Henry's death ), probably from ulcers given to him by Henry.
