tgemin, chegamos ao que é produzido hoje perdendo criatividade e nos rendendo aos refrões fáceis e ao que é vendável. hoje os jovens formam bandas para ser famosos e tocar na mtv e na malhação, e não por amor à música ou para se expressar ou perturbar a (des)ordem vigente. é triste, mas é verdade.

Oh I did not know Os Mutantes went back to the resistance! They were( still) huge! Like the Beatles only they networked with Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, etc. I knew those two were 'speaking out' against repression and made a controversial album the 'authorities did not care for. I am going to check these guys out more!- Fc

Take a look at a book called "A Divina Comédia dos Mutantes", by Carlos Callado, one of the most recognized music critics in Brazil. Unfortunately, I don´t know if there´s an English edition of it...it´s the best book about Os Mutantes I´ve ever read =)

It seems all the Brasilian recording artists were given TV shows to host so they were all groomed to stay in the business for the duration which is fantastic when you see how young Elis etc. started out. Of course most reggae stars started out as teens also. Why do some call them 3rd world?
