Look up Dave Chappelle's Oprah show, he talks alot about his experiences with Hollywood. The reason why these actors are soulless is because the people they live by and work for have destroyed them emotionally. They get drawn into the glitz and glamor of showbiz from when they're young and naive, and then they get trapped in it, being trailed along by wealth and desire. It'd happen to any of us if we were in their situations; we're only human and therefore have weaknesses that can be exploited.
