Before you skip over it, wait: this isnt just another forms video. In fact, its nothing like any form youve ever seen. Rather than showing you a dry collection of martial arts moves that have no basis in real-world combat, best-selling author Bob Orlando and Paladin Press have put together a video production that teaches hard-core fighting skills in a format thats easily learned, repeatable, and practical.

Drawn from the best elements of the Indonesian combat art of kuntao-silat, this video shows you the only two forms youll ever need. Combining the authors logical, detailed instruction with multiple camera angles and slow-motion photography, you will learn two of the most fundamental forms of kuntao-silat: Enam Matjan and Elbow Exercise. Both teach the important combat basics of angle, leverage, and body positioning to win any fight, including dealing with multiple assailants or fighting from a disadvantaged position.

In addition, Orlando shows strikes with both the open hand and the fist that will literally stun your opponent with pain and leave him open to devastating leg destructions to disrupt his base. This is the forms video for people who dont like forms, and a must-have for any complete combat library.

  • B/c this clip doesnt really show much at all, i implore any and all skeptics to buying just one of Bob Orlando's videos to see the true fluid power and devastation this style of fighting can bring (the most bad ass intercepting and deflecting techniques you have ever seen). Anyone can learn it, but as i said before, its best to have some sort of strong foundation in another martial art form, such as karate, if you want true focus and control.

  • first before doing this b/c* someone who's trained in this a lot, was to ever get into a real situation, might not instinctly have propper control and depending on how you react to an attacker, could easily accidently kill someone. Im just warning people b/c this art form is/can very dangerous. Luckly I already had a pretty strong foundation in Shotokan from when i was younger, so my dad used (while teaching me to) me as his training partner when learning this.

  • Yeah, this is one of the most, if not the most, effective styles of fighting. My dad trained in Aikido, and mostly Shotokan for over 30 years of his life. I want to say around almost 10 years ago he bought Bob Orlando's tapes, and b/c my dad has been doing a hard, focused, yet at his level fluid, style of martial arts most of his life, it did not take him to long to perfect..., but i recommend that people do some sort of martial art, like Shotokan, that emphises on focus and control b/c...

  • Great breakdown of info as usual from an excellent master and technician. Wish I lived closer to Denver. Peace to you always.TD
