  • Love this piece of music didnt like the bit in the middle dont remember it like that ??,in my opinion needed to be lighter in areas .last piece i played before left SA .. Any one found SA band playing it SA arrangement

  • The version you played was a straight transcription by the maestro Eric Ball which was a SA publication now out of print. My 'Meditation' is based on the original, maintaining Stainer's impeccable harmonies. It is a purely musical realisation where I added some delicate obligato and a fugal middle section based on the "For God sent not His son..." Before the haunting Strainer ending, the last verse also contains noble trombone arpeggios.
