Relations between Nairobi and Washington are facing a major test after President Mwai Kibaki sent a protest note to Barack Obama. The protest is in response to a threat by the US to impose travel bans on 15 Kenyan leaders. Kibaki says the US action was out of step. However, as Jane Kiyo reports, the countrys CEOs response may have just opened up another war in his government as Prime Minister Raila Odinga says the US was within its right.

Obama doesnt have time to read a useless letter from Kibaki. Hee is dealing with serious issues such as Iran, the situation in afghanistan and health care reform. That letter will be read by the deputy sec in jonhie carsons office. WE BORROW MONEY FROM THE US, THEY HAVE RIGHT TO CRITISE. THE Good book says " the lender is a master to the borrower" Raila went with a begging bowl to washington and NY ,he is now headed to the UK.

Ida is always a very well dressed African lady. And the way she presents herself with decorum in all fora is quite adorable. The skirt was purposefully chosen to draw our attention to Ida the lady and not Ida in the dress.

Obama will not even waste time reading such useless letters. As a matter of fact, Kibaki is the one who should have been bared because he is number one anti reforms. Once again a whole president is pushing the agenda of a few crooks who continue to hold him hostage. He is a prisoner of them and would not even allow him to attend UN for fear that Ocampo might open the list while there.

this is business. kenya owes KSh665 billion in debt. Much of this cash is owed to world bank and IMF which is funded by wealthy countries lead by USA. A more democratic country is more likely to pay its debts. That is why US opens its mouth all over the world. they are looking out for their tax payers. The ambassador will keep quiet when all debts are paid and and we stop borrowing.

...hate to agree, but Kibaki is right...either the US acts based on its national policy (and its hard to make the case here) or stop this meaningless act of issuing threats by this ambassador .
Was this not the same joker who congratulated Kibaki? Kwann nini sasa?
