cont.-I live in the south right now. I've made some 'good' friends (all kinds). I'm asked now/then about it. As I got older I had a good cry for AnnaMae...really sad! She has 2 daughters. Movie comin' out, Bringing Annie Mae Home. -Later.

@incendiarydan LMAO, I wouldn't believe anything out of Ward Churchill's mouth. He's a known plagiarizer and liar. His words don't hold water. People like Carter Camp, Russell Means, and other people distort what happened to benefit themselves in their own lies.

im not native, but im from Canada, so Anna Mae's misfortune has great signifigance with me. do you think those two dudes really did it? would AIM authorize such a thing?? especially at such a sensitive time? if the informer rumour was fact, then they should have just ordered her to go home and cut all ties and contact with AIM personell.

I have been captivated with reading the various sides and just finished watching the PBS American Experience. Even in my ignorance, I felt it was very lacking and romancing of the AIM leaders. I was upset that Anna Mae had not been included. She is the reason that my intense interest in Indian life and history has sprang forth. There is much confusion in what is being told. We must not form opinions too quickly, that is my lesson. One day the Truth will be fully revealed.

Wow! Just when you think you know some truth, you hear otherwise. Just goes to show you there's always another side to the story. Thankyou!

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the people who believed in the "fairy tail version".

Ward Churchill's "Agents of Repression", about the FBI's secret wars against the Black Panthers and AIM, sheds a particular lot of light on the history of Wounded Knee and AIM. Churchill also makes a very convincing case that after the FBI bad-jacketed Anna Mae, they were likely the ones who killed her. Can't rule out AIM members totally, though.
Great critique Richard Two Elk! It's time that the world and Indian country knows the truth about the take over of Wounded Knee and those residents who suffered from it who are never mentioned. It's time that is long overdue for the truth about AIM "leaders" at that time, who are considered heros, when in fact, they endangered and took over the homes of local residents in the Wounded Knee neighborhood and many lost what little they had. The years have created a fairy tale in many respects.
