He didn't distort any facts. He pointed out that Glenn Beck cut her off and didn't let her finish her point. For what exactly? Glenn Beck decided to talk about his "restoring honor" campaign, which lead to one of the biggest losses in TV ratings. His ratings dropped to the floor. Afterwards, when his contract expired, Fox News did NOT offer him a contract renewal.
@ColBrokov Completely true. I'm just saying that half of the arguments I get from socialists or half-socialists goes along the lines of "oh well I'm not really a SOCIALIST but more of a progressive" or "I'm not a communist, I just believe in state-ownership of business!"
It would be different if some evidence were presented that this person really was a marxist. For example, that they have organized a radical labor union, participated in a general strike, seized the means of production, or expressed views that indicated a dialectic understanding of history. I'm not saying that it is wrong to call out leftists for what they are. It is wrong to see a liberal and immediately label them as a radical revolutionary. It is like seeing a Muslim and shouting "terrorist!"
@Objectivist1994 . What are you talking about? My point is simply that terms like communist, marxist and socialist mean something definite. They shouldn't be tossed around and used as euphemisms for anything the speaker disapproves of. Its no different from the habit some on the left have of labeling anything they disapprove of a nazi or fascist . Labels like this are just a means to avoid thinking seriously about differing opinions.
@ColBrokov The problem is if you let the REAL socialists hear that, then they'll use your reasoning against anybody whoso dares question their ideology legitimately.
I am so tired of this "radical Marxist" "radical socialist" nonsense. That these charges are always leveled without any supporting evidence makes me believe that those tossing these terms around don't actually know what Marxists or "socialists" really believe. It is just a euphemism for anything they don't approve of, a way of demonizing a person for there beliefs and denying dignity to opposing points of view. Interestingly enough it is exactly the tactic used and advocated by Marx and Lenin.
lol, FAIL! HTWW doesn't even understand what LV is saying, MM said "I have been warning about...Carol Browner for months and the republicans didn't listen", and the reason he said that was to bolster his point that she's a fringe extreme right winger. Then he asked the question, why was Beck's promo more important than her finishing her point? It's a legit question which he can ask. HTWW, you don't even understand what's being argued...I hope this helps.
