This is just a simple tutorial video that shows how to make an animated GIF using GIMP, so you don't need a specific program just to make animated GIF's.

  • How do you get that "layer box" on the right side of your screen? I cant find one.

    thanks!

  • @lexmark136 I believe if you press ctrl+L then the layers box should pop up. If not, then you can select it by going to windows > dockable dialogs > layers. Hope that helps!

  • Great tutorial bro

  • @MeaslyMender nvm, i got it already. xd i had to tick the layer replacements box.

  • @H1W25K1998 Hmm, honestly I'm not certain exactly what would be causing it, but I would assume it would have to do with either the order of the layers, the frame replacement setting, or it could just be GIMP having issues. If none of these things are the cause, I would ask the GIMP forums. Just google search and you'll find them.

I do hope this helps though, but like I said I'm not really sure what's going on, I know GIMP can be pretty wonky when it comes to certain animations.

  • I have a problem, when I animate a sprite ( goomba ) it keeps showing the previous layer. How do I fix this? plz reply as soon as possible D:

  • @CaptainRandom16 thank you good sir, ctrl+L was all that was needed.
