  • Really? I don't remember that scene in the book. I would love to have a page number if you can supply that!

  • You're welcome. This was my favorite scene from the series as well. Strangely enough - I think this scene is only in the series - it was not in the book from which the series is based.

Being a pilot, I thought the scene was spot on for someone who understands flying styles.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Do you have any more clips with Richard Hope in them to post?

  • @Tallyhofox No - sorry, no more clips from the series.

  • In the book they were Hurricanes, not spits. Also they had two blade props (wooden) and no back armor (or armor of any type) also fought in Line astern formation which caused many to be shot down with out any warning, as Derek Robinson writes in the book. I believe Rex was a common type of "old boy" squadron leader, not up on tactics, fighting "by the book" no matter what the evidence against "the book" was. Spits look awsome though!! Great book, great series have them both!!

  • This was definitely in the book.

  • Whats the name of the endingmusic???

  • My father always watched the series and so did I!!

This is probably (What I think) the best serie about WW2

  • @instruct2008 saw a few rather brutal scenes in this when I was 4-5 years old, now 23 and cant stop flying sims with BoB scenarios in them!

  • @JPJIndyFan This is from the end of episode 3 (December 1939) - the nearest the book gets is the description of Trewellyn as an old Etonian, who I presume is the one Kellerway is refering to here.

  • "Piece of Cake" perhaps one the best flying movies ever made.

  • Thanks so much . Cant get the DVD in Aussie..........Peter

  • That's actually one of my favorite scenes in Piece of Cake.
