rev. bullock,in this video is right about teaching work skills such as fixing up houses as a way out of poverty. thing is is once they have those skills their moving out to auburn hills too.their not staying in highland park. if you want industry to come to highland park again first thing you have to do is make the streets safe. don't defend the "boyz in the hood" when their gangbangin'. throw their ass in jail and leave them there! and destroy their haunts and hoods.

@tonycoolfox More like the "Uneducated blacks" but if you go to Prince George's County in Maryland you're not gonna see this...PG is the wealthiest African American county in the nation, and it's well maintained...It's sad to see detroit and other cities like this fail, especially when it's populated with blacks...the system has got to change

I've used this video in several Yahoo! articles I've written about Highland Park. It's poignant and beautifully done. I'm from Grand Haven, Mich., and it hurts me terribly to see what we have allowed to happen to our brothers and sisters in the east side. This is a microcosm what happens when companies move out and people lose jobs. The very same thing will happens wherever people can't find sustainable incomes. Take note, America. Highland Park is in your backyard and in your future.

@halverdha1 It was so crappy how the Cohen Brothers tried to make Fargo-ians look stupid in their dumb movie, Fargo. It was well-crafted movie, of course, but still, the underlying sensibility was so NON-Fargo. Everyone I met from there was really smart and cool. That movie was almost as bad as Sasha Baron Cohen crap! I LOVE Fargo!!!

@danielgirotto without any penalty for the people who mis-used laws, created pseudo laws, etc, knowing it would devalue the land--- so they could turn around (in 30 years) and buy it up cheap??? Why do you not want to punish scam artists on that level, when you see this sort of devastation to human beings? Not saying farms aren't great--- just that some say it is devalued on purpose. @tonycoolfox Another aspect will emerge when area's "revitalized," when the ppl who assumed this would happen, then come to buy up the devalued land. It hasn't been a "1st world country" for a long time. "tax base" is not what you should want to rely on, (other people's money). The "tax base" was creativity of Henry Ford, that others fed).
