(SALEM, Ore.) - Americans are increasingly discovering that one of the best, most effective medicines for a surprising range of ailments, is none other than cannabis, the notorious weed that is officially known as marijuana, but carries as many street names as it does burdens from generations of government propaganda.

In the beginning it was about getting this plant off the market so that synthetic rope and other newly developed goods made in noxious, smoke belching factories, could take its place.

There are funny stories. The movie 'Reefer Madness' which made millions of Americans in the 1930's believe that marijuana was a deadly violence-causing narcotic, was used to push marijuana into outlaw status. Then when WWII broke out, it was suddenly just fine for farmers to again grow marijuana, in this case the industrial strains better known as hemp.

@Tide12NC Yes, cannabis can help with your pain. Check out Rick Simpson's "Run From the Cure" on Youtube. Check out "Juicing Cannabis". Look into Cannabis creams also. Higher CBD strains of cannabis will help with the "scariness". Look into vaporizing cannabis instead of smoking and using a bong. Educate yourself, as much as possible about cannabis. Talk to or listen to others that use cannabis for it's healing properties.

I had a double fusion back surgery done 1yr ago this past Aug. I take 6 oxycodone pills daily. If marijuana is not harmful the why can't I try it in Alabama. They say that it's better for me than the med's I'm on. Will marijuana help my back??? What will it feel like??? I tried to hits once on a bong, I got way higher than wanted. Pain was gone greatly, but too high, panicky. Wasn't worth the scariness of that night. I want pain gone with happiness and relaxation. Any ideas on strands, how to u

The reefer madness generation are hardwired with this propaganda nonsense.. This video helps to break down the misconception, especially seeing the Doc having a laugh, obviously stoned to me, but to someone terminally ill giving up hope because their belief systems are falsely based on scientific dogma that eventually lets them down medically financially and spiritually, the medicinal wonder plant cannabis that repairs DNA expands your mind and conquers pain at least looks like fun!.
