You mean the same United States that saved the world from darkness in two World Wars, the one that single handedly defeated communism in the USSR without firing a single shot, or where our definition of poverty is seen as absolute wealth by the billions in real poverty in the old Eastern Bloc, India, and the Asian "countries" right? McMurtry is not a conservative. He wrote this song during the Bush administration. If anything, he's closest to a libertarian. Vote libertarian. Ron Paul's the closest choice.

Revitalize and open NEW manufacturing ventures, since we cannot bring the jobs back.
We could start small --- I can name many things we can make -- and make them using goods and raw materials obtained locally.
