Aquas Beluga Whales - Shimane, Japan

Emily, Kay, Yuko and I went to Shimane's local Aquarium. I didn't know what to expect from it, but it turned out to be really great. Like most things in Japan, it was extremely well-done. These are the Beluga Whales.

What's the difference between whales, dolphins, dogs, cats, or any other living creature? Why are these whales more important to you than dogs? Why are they more important to you than any other animal?

I want to save whales, too. But come on. Human culture is all about exploiting nature, so don't get all f-ing worked up about 3 white dolphins that are actually treated well and cared for and start getting worked up about puppy mills, factory chickens, bovine growth hormones, or just the guy down the street who beats his dogs.
