yes, thats only if you don't do this glitch, just fish as normally and you'll get a heart piece as a reward. but who wants that? Getting any heart pieces whatsoever takes the fun out of the game, Idk I like to play through it with only 3 hearts and no Heart pieces or Containers collected.

hold on, so you got the golden scale before you even went to zora's domain which is where you get the silver scale. well what if after doing this, you head over to zora's domain and get the silver scale?

Thats a good question. I don't know. I've never tried to go get the silver scale after using this glitch.

a reminder.. you should get the Piece of Heart for a 10lb+ fish before you decide to get the golden scale. I think you have to leave after to reset the BIG fish too right? btw, does anyone know if the loach appears when some fish starts flipping out of the water randomly? :o

i go thru the game without Collecting ANY Heart pieces whatsoever, i will only play thru the game with 3 hearts.

and about the loach, it only appears as an adult and yes, it appears when you see a fish jumping out of the water, you may need a sinking lure to catch it, it will be in that spot where the fish is jumping, but you wont be able to see the loach, you just gotta hope it snags

I confirmed this. You can not get the golden scale as young link in Ocarina of Time 3D :C I should have known xD

@spsheets58 If you get the Gold Scale before the Silver Scale then the siliver one will take the place of the gold one thats why if your gonna do this glitch dont get the silver scale if you wanna keep the gold scale earrly.

This works on the GameCube version, aswell, I just tried, and thanks to you, I was finaly able to 100% complete OoT.

Once you've done it once, no point in doing it again, though...

And by the way, getting the silver scale after the golden scale -erases your golden scale- and you can't get it back unless you restart the whole game.

You actually can still get the heart piece when you get the gold scale, since I did. That's probably because I went back after growing up, or the fish that I caught for the scale weighed 8 pounds leaving me to get the heart piece later with a 10 or 11 pounder (don't recall the weight.) One or both of those instances might have been how I did it.
