i love my hd600s. I keep them in their original sturdy box and when I open it I smell it and take pleasure in doing that :D

I agree, all the Beyerdynamic headphones look "wonkie." I have a pair of DT 880 Pros myself, but compared to my AKG Q701 and Sennheiser HD 650, they look rather dated. I think my grandfather might think they were cool though. The Beyer headphones are very comfortable though. I'll give them that.

@atillerman Wrong. They still sound great. Better with an amp, yes, but not horrible by any stretch of the imagination without one.

The most important part of the chain is the DAC, which is the source. the amplifier is next.
