Indeed a hard piece, I played this in either 1995 or 1996 in the South Salem High school Wind Ensemble. We won state that year, if I can get a hold of the recording I'll post it, I think we did pretty well, I'd almost say someone took our recording and pasted it over this video :p
I played this piece with the Havre,Montana High School band in 1966 at the International band festival in Moosejaw, Saskachewan.....This was the class A competition piece.
Great performance by a large symphonic band! I really like this piece a lot, one of the best of the classic band repertoire that is unfortunately not performed very often. Good work, solid recording (:

probably the hardest song i've played in band before. but i guess we were good considering we got Gold with Distinction in the NYSMA music festival.
