I am thinking for myself, just because what I believe is different than what you believe doesn't make either one of us an idiot. I personally believe that giving yourself to your country and all of the country's people is the greatest sacrifice someone can make. Even if what politicians have people doing seems pointless, just the thought and act of being willing to fight for someone else that you have never met is something greater than yourself.
