A sad moment witnessed whilst driving a friend home.dont know how it started.no one putting it out despite fire crews on roadside.I'm guessing the weight of a fire engine is too heavy for the pier.it looked like the ballroom on fire where so many wonderful things have taken place...

Tragic! A sad day for our town. It should never have been sold to that developer in the first place. To think we once had two piers (like Brighton) now we have none :(

@whatthehellname1 Well done to you for catching them! How did you know it was them that had set fire to it? Any idea how it happened/what they did? It's such a sad loss. I was in town earlier today and still smell like a bonfire!
