After serving years of neglect, FUNimation finally shows Japanese Dragon Ball Z fans some love with an extremely amazing release! But how does it stack up against previous releases? Why should you care? (A laid back review this time with only still-frame images. Dub fans should be warned that I attack your sacred cow on occasion, but it's all in good fun. The combative "nerd" is actually a picture of myself.)

  • hey these are impossible to find man. you think i should get the orange bricks or wait until all the blue ray get released? btw do you know how may b-rays are gonna be released and the time frame? thanks

  • @themApples14 Heh, I'd recommend you check out my new Dragon Box review, which answers this question, but I'll give you the short answer (although I'd still recommend you check it out ^_^): the Blu-rays. If the choice is between that and the orange bricks, or ANYTHING and the orange bricks, never choose the orange bricks. But I'd still recommend the DBoxes over the Blu-rays if you can track them down. For more info, see my newer video, third from the top on my channel page.

  • Do they redub on the dragon box or is as the same on the remastered and/or US original dub?

  • @FPSSJGoten It's the same 5.1, original soundtrack redub that was first featured on the orange bricks.

  • Do you know if they are still producing the Dragon Boxes ? Because is really hard to find it in the stores.

  • @SuperVegeta1913 Unfortunately, it seems they are no longer being produced. People are scrambling a bit now to find them all.

  • I finally completed my DBZ Dragon Box collection set today. I feel so honored.

  • @viperrcm0214 But since you're referring specifically to the music, I'll just weigh in by saying I don't think they sound "old" or "dated" at all, any more than any other use of orchestral music for fantasy series in the past 30+ years: Star Wars, Superman, Batman, Star Trek, et al. There are a few pieces in early DB that give in to the '80s synth wave that was popular at the time (usually insert songs, though) and has aged accordingly, but orchestras usually feel pretty timeless.
