JVC Everio GZ-HM200 indoor and outdoor test

Testing the new JVC Everio HM200 for both indoor and outdoor video quality. I didn't think the indoor video was as good as it should be. I tested it against the Canon HF200 which had superior inside images. If you're able to enlarge this image you'll see the grainy images, small size it looks ok, but put it on a big screen imac or a bigger HDTV and it looks pretty bad I thought. Used imovie 09 to create the project.

How would you rate this camera overall? better than a sony or Panasonic in that price range?

Iys had some positive reviews then i read it had bad hd video? true? would you have got another brand instead?

Im have limited cash and want a nice camera that feels solid but good at the 1080p.

I have a bad taste about Sony because our last one died so quickly. Have not checked panasonic. I ended up getting the Canon HF200 and returned this JVC simply due to indoor video quality. If I didn't need indoor I would have kept the JVC.

Your so right diyarticles, the indoor quality of this camera leaves alot to be desired. however the outdoor quality is great! it would be great if it had both.

can you tell me how you got it to fit full screen? I am using Sony Vegas HD 9.0 video editor and I keep changing the settings to HD and I cannot get my youtube videos to fit the full screen like yours does!

I've got this camcorder and even though its out of the price range, it is a very good product that JVC designed. I haven't officially tested this because its brand new and I've brought it today (I've just got home from buying it) although when it was charging opened the monitor (camcorder automatically turns on) and I can tell you it is worth the money.
