Part 2 of 3: Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of MARS MATRIX on the Sega Dreamcast video game console system. Does the USA finally send a space ship to mars someday and start a colony? Is there a colonized settlement on the planet mars where people can grow farms and live in peace and harmony? Is there life on Mars? Well, they just found water recently and NASA is supposedly sending people there on a mission someday. Mars Matrix predicts the future. The people on Mars are attacked by Martians who have a huge army of spacecraft that shoot pink and blue lasers and listen to blasting techno music every second of every day. The martians are upset that mankind has disturbed their red planet rave and seeks vengeance in the form of pain and blood and loud, flashy, blinky lights and explosions. Released in 2000 for the Dreamcast by Capcom, Mars Matrix is a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up or SHMUP and is pretty crazy. You could even call this game a maniac shooter, among the most challenging of the science fiction based SHMUPS. The vertical scrolling gameplay is shown off in the footage as you collect lots of experience point gold cube things and blast away aliens like it's just no thing. A rare game and fairly collectible today, Mars Matrix is a true classic shooter and worthy of your attention if you like games like Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Raiden 3. It would be great to see this game released on a next gen console like the PS3 or Xbox 360 Live Arcade in the future, but this Dreamcast version has great graphics and sound and totally rocks. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The reviews on the HD series are reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. • I think it's safe to say that Mark seems like a really nice guy in real life. I bet he'd be a fun person to talk to.

  • This game contains Giant Enemy Crabs!

  • Fuchikomas and tachikomas are not the same!

    *insert undue rage here*

  • I tried saying Bright Blinky Things 3 times fast but the third time I said Blight Brinky Things

  • @6xSnake6x

Yes, could someone enlighten us to the name of this song? He said it was a scrapped intro, but does the song appear anywhere else in the game?

  • What's the song in the begining ? 00:36

  • @Quartrez I'm not good at horizontal shmups, just vertical.

  • @S0ryiu Do you do no death runs when you zone out in Gradius ?

  • @S0ryiu I guess different strategies work for different people

  • @Quartrez In a bullet hell game, when I think: I die. When I zone out: I do no death runs.

  • @S0ryiu Trust me, the last thing you want to do in Mars Matrix is set your mind on autopilot. You constantly need to watch what's coming at you and where you can go, otherwise you're dead.

  • Actually Mark, the best way to play these games is to just set your mind on autopilot.... same thing works for most fighting games.
