@newminkey no that was the government sponsored booze that was given to homeless people that pitched up there, most probarbly had the idea put into their heads by somebody working for the government.
Parliament Square used to be a gorgeous area for tourists and locals alike. Then the so called 'peace protestors' moved in and turned it into a gypsy camp, stamped the grass into dust, and erected signs giving a totally one sided view.
What these 'peace protestors' really want is to turn a blind eye to all the tyranny and injustice around the world, and for the West to bury it's head in the sand. Regimes like Saddam's Iraq, and the Taliban in Afghanistan, were evil on a par with Nazi Germany.
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." - Thomas Jefferson
Take some time to appreciate the unfathomable cruelty of this pattern. You may be grievously harmed and even permanently damaged by the actions of those who hold unanswerable power.
Not a single mention of Brian Haw who has been protesting and living right opposite Parliament SQ 9 whole years.he is the first man in hundreds of years to stand outside parliament and tell them they are wrong. He and Barbara Tucker a great lady who joined him over 4 years ago are the only protesters saying that Tony Blair,Gordan Brown and others should be tried for war crimes. They are the only ones putting up pictures of children being born deformed due to depleted uranium.
I agree with their message, but their tactics are a bit dated. This is a new media world, be creative to get media attention to get your message across, don't just set up a camp.
It looks to me that the peace movement in the UK is leading the way in pressing their government to reject the current illegal wars in the Mid-East. Would that the US had as much courage. I hope to see the tents again soon.

@AgainstTheWind001 - I wasn't aware that our rights have been taken away to the extent that the Taliban takes away the rights of Afghan citizens.
Women caught teaching children in Taliban controlled areas are shot in the head in front of the children as a lesson to all.
If the Taliban catches anyone listening to music, they are beaten up.
Anyone suspected by the Taliban of being gay is executed
Isn't it funny how so many people in the West work so hard to ignore this injustice.

Isn't it funny how our governments work so hard to protect us from those evil terrorist by taking away OUR rights and freedom.
Every time they come to our rescue over anything it just happens to benefit them directly....... hmmmm.
Look up.... Clinton: 'Principle Terrorist Threat to U.S. Emanates From Pakistan' (For $1.5 Billion a Year)
and at least listen at about 2:45.
She openly admits that we, the US, created those Afghan terrorist.
What a joke.
