The Unseen Gays: Struggling on the Margins

At a time when nearly every corner of the country is suffering from market downturns and high unemployment rates, many in the LGBT community are especially hard hit. Excellent documentation of lesbian, gay and transgendered people economically marginalized by barriers of race and/or affecting gender non-conforming appearance. Such individuals have not only been under-represented by national gay organizations in gains made by gay and lesbian people, but are often denied access to social services designed to be a safety net for people unable to find employment, affordable housing and medical insurance.
