1 new name, 1 new venue, 1 new website and 2 new sponsors!
Prolific XC event organisers SMBC have just released news on what looks like an exciting SouthernXC Series for 2010.
For 2010 the series will be renamed The Pedalon.co.uk SouthernXC Series to recognize the significant support pedalon.co.uk have given to the series over the last 2 years. Joining Pedalon.co.uk are component manufacturers SRAM and bike cleaning brand Kaboom! The new sponsors are supporting SMBC on putting on what will be the biggest, best SouthernXC Series yet!
With the support of Pedalon.co.uk, the SMBC team are upping the prize money for elite and expert riders to a massive £1,000 per round! Products and exciting new trophies will be presented to other categories.
Theres also a new venue in the form of Wasing Estate near Reading. This 4,000 acre estate can be compared to Pippingford, but with slightly tamer hills and Sherwood-esque coniferous woodland. Round 1 of the series is your only chance to see the estate before it hosts a round of the British XC Series in May. Also of note is Pippingford, where the team have been busy building even more sweet singletrack in preparation for round 3 and the 2010 National XC and Marathon Championships.

Round 2 23rd May The Pippingford Estate, nr East Grinstead
Round 3 - 13th June Crow Hill, nr Ringwood
Round 4 11th July Bordon, Hampshire
Round 5 22nd August Old Park Farm, nr Alton, Hants
Southern Champs 11th Sept (Saturday) The Pippingford Estate, nr Est Grinstead
