Silverstone has just released the third revision to the Raven series chassis, which incorporates the same unique interior with a rotated motherboard tray, and a really effective cooling design. The new Raven 3 has been categorized as a mid-tower chassis, and packs in a couple of changes over the first two models.

The exterior appearance is very much unchanged from the typical Raven design, however Silverstone has added a touch of color with two Champaign stripes, which we think will not be a welcomed change. However the windowed side panel seem to show off only the interesting components in your system and is a really nice addition to the overall look of the case.

The inside layout has been modified, with the relocation of the power supply to the bottom right while still using the positive air pressure design from the RV02 and intake cool air from the bottom of the case, and exhausting through the top. This is a very simple concept of airflow, but really useful in practice as no extra heat passes over other components. The case is equipped with multiple storage compartments,
including installation of drives at the back of the motherboard tray. This being a mid-tower chassis, you will be surprised at how much hardware you can fit into a case this size; extended-ATX motherboard support and graphics cards with lengths of up to 13.58".

The only downside to this new Raven chassis are the interior watercooling options and a tedious removal process of the two hard-drive cages. Being released at $139.99, we feel it is fairly priced for the features it packs on the interior, with fantastic cable management, storage needs, and great cooling. Silverstone continues to push the bar by redesigning the Raven, so it will be interesting to see what changes they bring next.
