Classic Australian ad for Triple M (FM 105). Features a music assembly-line with heaps of stop-motion and computer generated special FX.

  • Awesome ad! These were the days when Triple used to be great. *sigh*

  • I remember hearing this being played at Volume 11 walking through a dark alley in the Entertainment Centre one night before a Sydney Kings game. Awesome atmosphere. Nowadays it'd be some Australian Idol trash.

  • This ad used to mesmerise me when I was a little guy!

  • @kenmfrancis thanks :)

  • @coughcool72 not in this one ... but most of the ads before this were wall-to-wall lead gtr. i know this cos after the first one played by kevin borich I played the gtr on a bucket load of those until this one.

  • Great ad, very reminiscent of Duran Duran's "Wild Boys" video clip. Great entertainment!

  • triple m is great

    it has just gone downhill

    in the last 2 decades

  • Great ad for a once great station.

Now, TripleM has lost the plot & no longer plays good music anymore.

  • @DarkSta77 - did Simon Reynolds, by any chance, do the Kellog's Nutri Grain commercials that looked more and more like a bad acid trip with each one?

  • i think that guitar playing.."thingy" is the devil and the triple m..is really triple 666!!!

thats how i see it :-P

  • Classic... This ad was done by Siimon Reynolds (yes with a double "ii") around the same time he created the infamous Grim Reaper AIDS campaign in the 80's.

It was groundbreaking commercials of this type very early on in his career that made him the most sought after advertising guru in Australia for quite a few years.

  • I remember this ad well but I haven't thought of it in over two decades. I think it was from around 1986/87.
