Me? I was born in 1950 in Hip City (NYC) South Jamaica. To be a shy black kid among a sea of fast talking smooth walking dudes, who had strong "raps" and knew how to pull the ladies, was a sorry state to be in at the time. I wanted a girlfriend so bad. I played this cut endlessly. Today, with 4 grown kids and two grands, I have since made up for lost time. This ballad is still in my collection.

George Smith AKA(Smitty) was the lead singer before he pass away in the early 70's. they were from Jersey City,This song was heavly played
when I serve in the late 60's in Vietnam.

You also grow up with Jimmy Bishop and Georgie Woods the guy with the goods and let's not forget about the 1st super cool white dude; the Geator with the heater Jerry Blavat and that dude Butter-ball!!

This is on of my favorites .I love this song. I am glad I was able to find it on you tube. I grew up in Brooklyn. NY in the sumner projects. We use to party in with the blue lights in the basements, Back then we had good house partys. We partied in the Marcy , Sumner, Bushwick and Fortgreene progects etc. For those who still have it going on and live in New York n the metropolitan areas . come to Roseland Rythm Review with Felix Hernandez n Manhattan for an old school party u will love it

Simply beautiful, this is truly 'Philly' Soul at its best!!!
I was born in 1952, I'm white, grew up in a black area of Yeadon, PA (outside Philly). Used to listen to this on WHAT AM and own the 45 (somewhere now in storage). It's one of the best songs ever (up there with The Intruders' "United" or The Ethics' "Think About Tomorrow."
