@ZahidSkateboards miniDV tapes. :) Some would argue that having HDV tapes for the HD would yield better results, but I have tried both and the quality is the same for both. HDV tapes are just a lot more expensive, so don't waste your money on those.

@peasncarrots92 In terms of specs, they are almost exactly the same. The HV40 is a newer model (2009), and it has a couple more bells and whistles on it compared to the HV20 which is a couple years older. I'd recommend an HV40 because it's also surprisingly cheaper. The quality is the same across the board.

@peasncarrots92 Not at all, it's just my style I decided to do for this one. :)
The manual focus isn't that great, not gonna lie. It's just a little scroll by the lens and you have to scroll it quite a bit to get it in good manual focus, but it does it's job pretty well.

is it difficult to change the focus from the foreground to background (vice versa) without zooming in so much?
