This is for the people who want to get the highest quality you can get on your flat screen TV. This is a set up anybody can do without modding your sega genesis. Basically I am showing you how to tap into your existing RGB signal in your genesis so you can convert it to RGB Component we use here. I have tested this on a CRT and it looks great as well. But it actually looks better on a flat screen believe it or not. My recording of the video quality is basically using a camera to record the video off a flat screen tv.... and it still looks great. It works on a sega gensis 1, model 2, CDX, and I have just confirmed that it works on a 32x.

  • Hey, great vids. I'm kind of at a crossroads though. I want to do NES, SNES, and GENESIS in RGB Component using your methods, but I don't know if I should get a LCD or a CRT. From this video LCD looks amazing. As an overall for the aforementioned 3 consoles, what should I do?

  • @wolfenbreed It looks great on LCD, but I prefer scanlines on a CRT. I bought my 26 inch Sony Trinitron WEGA on Craigslist for 100 dollars.

  • @wolfenbreed While the NES has a scart cable, it only pulls composite out. NES does not have a RGB signal to convert. Unless you modified a NES with the arcade version. Just remember that scart does not mean it has RGB. A scart cable is just a connection point. One of my videos you can clearly see what type of splitter I am using. Just make sure you get a good one. Some splitters bleed 5VDC from one system to another. The Lynsay scart splitter is horrible!

  • CVS287 is better than the CSY-2100 from what i here.

  • @MrBasketball2003 After you told me this I ordered one for my NeoGeo. It looks great on the CRT but on a flats screen LCD I have problems with the edges being distorted. I am thinking its my scart cable. I am going to order another scart cable and try again. Then I am doing another video on the Neogeo using this method except with the CVS287.

  • @phonedork Thanks for your help man. I've finally gotten SCART cables for NES GENESIS and SNES, but I can't seem to find the SCART Switcher you have for delivery to the US. How in the world did you get yours?!

  • hey i setup the box and everything but i don't get a picture could you tell me what i did wrong

  • Where did you buy that Neo Myth? I can't find it anywhere.

  • @Paperclown LOL! I did not spend that much money guy. Anyways when I recorded this years ago I had a Nikon D5000 that recorded in auto mode. It gave shitty results. But now that I have bumped up to the Nikon D7000 I can shoot my CRT results in full manual. Aperture 8, ISO 500, Shutter Speed 60 to keep from recording on a CRT with flickering... so on. I do like the SGL 3000 for high def TVs! But this setup on my Sony Trinitron gives better results in my opinion.

  • @phonedork: where's your video showing your crt results? with all the money you blew on importing scart supplies you could have went the better route and bought a multi-sync crt. using a 27 inch arcade monitor now.. and there's no comparison to your flat pictures. you have no pixel glow, scanlines, or pixel detail (not talking about your blocky images.. you should be able to see individual pixel dots). those 3 combined give a image that has more depth to it, and not be flat painted
