Thank you to everybody that voted! You brought me to the Top 3. :) I got to perform with the other Top 15 finalists in the orchestra with Foo's LIVE at the 50th Grammys..it was one helluva time!
Here's my ~60 second audition clip to play with the Foo Fighters at the Grammy's this year. Playin ma electric violin :) It's a Mark Wood Stingray..great for rock!
I hope you dig it! The Foo's have been one of my favorite bands since I was 11.
Everybody seems to be asking, here's some answers:
I couldn't decide if I wanted to do this or not, or even if there was a point, so I put it off until quite literally the LAST SECOND. This was just a quick one-take recording. I improvised around the melody of the song as I hummed it in my head. I didn't take any time to EQ the amp I used or anything else involving the sound. Like I said, it was rushed...and this is YouTube. I plugged in, played for about a minute, and threw it online.
Thanks for all of your feedback, everybody.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
i don't say you're bad but i don't really think anybody should play any "rock songs" on a classical instrument cause it will just sound stupid :P But you're good though.

Well I'm glad you like, but you should note that the guitar is a "classical" instrument as well.
While predecessors begin to show up thousands of years ago, a variant of the modern guitar clearly differing from the lute first appears around 1300. The guitar doesn't even become electrified until shortly after 1920.
Just somethin to put in your pipe, as they say.
